i love this kind of detailed childlike illustration style the lines used for the background are quite common but i think they enhance the style massively, i like the loose typography where the outline is shifted slightly to the left in order to create highlights in the letters. i think that this type of style is very trendy at the moment and i would like to use and take influence from this type of style at some point in the future.
keeping in unreal.
great editorial illustrations a very simple but effective layout/spread, three column pages and large detailed illustrations. i think the colour palette is very nice aswell it gives off a very relaxed feel in these illustrations also the typeography used is mild and not too much of a contrast, i like this type of flat illustration it works really well and creates a great overall feel for the editorial piece.
great nike poster illustrations such a simple concept yet such a strong visual, it almost reminds me of my year one Robson Brown NE1 final piece a cluster of bits and bobs making up a final shape or message, it is just a flat illustrator based piece with a slight photoshop filter over it to create a texture to the design. these are very cool visuals and could be taken alot further to create a large range of solutions to briefs.
thought this was a very cool infographic type of illustration it could be a good visual for poster designs for club nights or something along those lines. maybe it couldbe a good way to make up different shapes or object. im not too sure how you would create this type of effect i think it could be possible in the 3d tool in illustrator maybe extrude and bevel.

flight of the yellow submarine.
i came across this flight of the concords illustration and i was reminded of how cool the beatles yellow submarine animations and cover art were, this is another timeless style that could have its place amongst my portfolio work i would like to utilise this sort of thing in the future.
i found this illustration and it instantly reminded me of how much i love saul bass although this piece seems to have a very modern twist to it, i suppose its just the highlights and sort of drop shadows that make it seem a little bit more fitting with alot of recent illustration styles, i think this could be a very strong benifitial style to future in my portfolio.
next day she was wearing my rolex.
i found this cool rolex clock design i thought it was a great way to get a message across, clever and a very strong way to communicate to the public, im not sure how i could use the idea in the future but if the oppertunity came about i think i would consider a similar solution to a design problem.
i really loved these illustrations for exibitions in london i thought the use of cool charicter design and typography worked really well, the use off colour enhanced the style of the illustrations, i think there posters were mainly compiled in illustrator and finally taken into photoshop to apply the filters that give the posters the rough grainy effect that ties the whole poster designs together, i think this style off illustration could work well for a range of projects and i will consider this kind of illustration for future briefs.
nuby
my first project was for NUBY a baby products company, i think that my work was fitting and did meet the clients needs although after i submitted the work i was informed that the brief was to create a packaging range that could be carried throughout there full line of products, and that my designs were nice but it would prove difficult apply this concept too there larger products, i used a very simple idea that was created solely in illustrator i wanted my designs to be very flat using bright colour and simple product information layouts. i did find this project quite difficult and at first struggled with initial ideas but i think i did manage to create some nice packaging for the products i chose. i think this project has helped me understand that i need to maybe think about the bigger picture when designing for a brand such as NUBY and i will be able too better my designs in the future.
Alex Trochut
these are typographic illustrations by Alex Trochut, throughout his work he uses the combination of type and detailed illustration very well for a large range of clients. i am in love with his work and aspire to be capable of this standard of design at some point in my future. i also love the FILA campaign in which he merges photography and immensly detailed illustration it works so well and could be used in so many different ways for so many different subjects.
beatbag
thought this typographic illustration was great its promoting getting over heart disease and it incorporated a swirly heart with subtle use of colour i think this is a very pleasent visual to promote this subject.
